Brandy George joined TMHC during the 2004 field season, working as a field assistant and First Nations Liaison. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2003 where she specialized in a combined anthropology and archaeology program. Brandy went on to complete a Masters degree in anthropology at the University of Toronto in 2004. Since joining the firm Brandy has been involved in numerous projects including the excavation of a large, multiple occupation Iroquoian village, the preparation of teaching and protocol documents for archaeological research in First Nations territories, the documentation of a late 18th to mid-19th site associated with Fort Malden in Amherstburg and the survey of a proposed wind-farm development in Huron County. Brandy's research interests include precontact pottery manufacture and use, and the First Nations occupation of Southwestern Ontario. For her Masters thesis, she experimented with the construction, firing and seasoning of clay vessels modeled after archaeological specimens. Since joining TMHC, she has furthered this interest through the excavation and reconstruction of whole pots from Iroquoian sites.
